The Riverside Casino and Golf Resort will open on Thursday, August 31.
General Manager, Joe Massa, announced the opening in a press conference at the Casino on Monday, July 31, showing the television ads to the press.
He also announced that 170 people were already part of the staff and 110 were going through orientation. When the casino finally opens, the staff will be of 850 people. Dealers have been training for several weeks.
The Casino will have 1,181 slots machines, 24 gaming tables, 15 poker tables and several bars and restaurants. The casino has 350,000 square-feet.
Significant progress could be seen every day and about 95% of the facilities are complete. The SPA, indoor/outdoor swimming pool and the gift boutique are yet to be built. The Casino area will not be smoke-free, but it will have a high tech ventilation system to prevent smoke from filling up the area.
The convention center will be able to seat 1,100 people, the first entertainer will be Tom Arnold, featuring Jay Leno two weeks later. Both of them will perform on a regular basis. A bar at the facility will present area entertainers on a daily basis.
