Holland Casino registered a total of 7.5 million visitors in 2007. This means a 7.6 per cent more than in 2006 and makes of Holland Casino an extremely popular entertainment venue. The increasing number of visitors, however, did not represent better operational results, in terms of profits.
The net income of the company in 2007 was 85.6 million euros, 4.1 per cent less than in 2006 and the money spent per visitor was 104 euros compared to 101 euros in 2007. The decrease in the company’s profits is also due to taxes, which in 2007 represented 268.2 million euros, 8 million more than in 2006.
“We are doing well if we take into account the number of visitors. More and more people are coming to visit us and spend a wonderful night,” Dick Flink, a spokesperson for Holland Casino said. “It’s clear that the money spent per visitor has decreased since 2003, while taxes have increased. We are preparing a new strategy to face this plus the smoking prohibition, which is also affecting us.”
In 1975, the Dutch government named Holland Casino as the only legal gaming venue in the country. Holland Casino offers a glamorous gaming environment for adults who enjoy betting on table games and slot machines.
