Harrah’s Entertainment remains silent

During the weekend there were rumors about the company being interested in buying two big British casino operators that are in the process of merging. The press informed that they were studying a proposal to buy Stanley Leisure, an organization which is negotiating to purchase London Clubs International.

“We don’t make comments about the market’s rumors”, said the spokesperson for Harrah’s, Alberto Lopez. The analyst from Bear Stearns, Joe Greff, said that the acquisition might make sense, at the right prize.

“The British market is in the middle of a quick expansion and the British presence would help as a start to supervise the projects of Harrah’s European growth, which are in Spain and Slovenia”, the analyst said.

Greff said that at the actual prize of the stacks, an agreement to get Stanley Leisure and London Clubs would be neutral for the gaining per stack of Harrah’s, but an agreement in a higher prize would dilute them, excluding a possible saving of costs or an increase of the income.
