This week, a spokesperson for the Sociedade de Jogos de Macau announced the company, together with Macau Success, would inaugurate a new casino in the former Portuguese colony on 1 February. The gambling venue, called Puente 16, will be the nineteenth casino owned by Asian tycoon Stanley Ho.
The complex will be located in Puerto Interior, and will have 107 gaming tables and about 300 slot machines. Besides, Puente 16 will offer to its visitors several shopping malls, restaurants, bars, a convention center, exhibition stands and entertainment zones.
In addition to the casino, one of the main attractions of the complex will be a hotel of the French chain Sofitel, with 420 luxury suites, bars, a gymnasium, a multiple-purpose room and a pool. With this, the companies expect to revitalize the Puerto Interior zone, framed in Macau’s Historical Center and named World Heritage by the UNESCO.
The Puente 16 project had a cost of approximately $307,419,178. The Sociedade de Jogos de Macau will retain 51% of the shares while Macau Success will hold 49%.
