The Carnival joins the Casinos to add entertainment to the city
The blue sceneries, like destruction and flooded water have been left back, New Orleans has get back on its feet again.
Six months after the catastrophe New Orleans smiles again with the reopening of the Harrah’s Casino and the Carnival festival.
The casino’s front ground and its extensive roof were the headquarters for the troopers, National Guard and policemen that arrived from all around the states when Katrina stroke the city.
“It’s hard to live here. We need some sort of distraction and entertainment source” said Keith Twitchell, the Carnival organizer.
The city hasn’t been able to fully recover from the losses suffered. New Orleans is not fully functional yet and reconstruction is quite slow. Even though the number of citizens has fallen, we have lost half of the total population due to migration.
The French Neighborhood, source of Jazz, was now flooded by musicians and carriages and was the scenery of the most frenetic and colorful carnival ever. It was a blend of Indian slaves and French adventurers’ traditions with bohemia and lust.
