The whole project will require an investment of $30 million
Conrad Resort & Casino Punta del Este (Uruguay), one of the most important hotels and casinos in South America, is planning to invest $2 million in the renovation and redecoration of its 296 rooms.
The improvements will include painting, modernization of the air conditioning system, and renovation of the bathroom fittings and accessories, curtains and general furniture.
These works, which will be done in different stages all along 2006 and are thought to be concluded in November, are only the first part of a great renovation.
According to Jorge Serna, president of Conrad Resort & Casino, the whole project will require an investment of $30 million and involves the construction of 300 new rooms, an indoor pool, meeting rooms, as well as widening of commercial areas.
Other plans, promoted by the proprietary group Harrah’s, would involve changing the name of the casino hotel to Caesar’s Palace, but this would take place in approximately two years.
